As we use novel technics to more thoroughly explore and record artists works from the past we get to see past what is on the surface to hidden art below. Multispectral captures using Ultra Violet, Infra Red, X-rays and other spectums of light have allowed us to view what the artist covered over. This allows us to understand more about the Artist, their technics, paint composition, substrates and what they considered worthy in a finished piece.
